About The Position

The Validation Engineer will be responsible for defining test strategies, identifying and resolving failures, creating efficiency-improving scripts/tools, and writing validation reports and compliance documents. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive standards, vehicle simulation bench architecture, and test environments. The engineer will also manage test bench equipment, analyze system requirements, generate test cases, and collaborate with engineering teams. A key aspect of the role involves customer support, assisting with technical and operational issues, and ensuring smooth project execution. The position also emphasizes compliance with quality and safety standards, including IATF 16949, Automotive SPICE, and ISO 17025, and maintaining working knowledge of safety policies. Business travel to manufacturing sites or HQ for customer support and project reviews is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent experience (5 additional years of relevant technical experience in degree). A technical or engineering degree is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Automotive industry with at least 5+ years of validation engineer test experience in Quality, Engineering, or Manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with VCU and Bench test equipment and software.
  • Strong understanding of Vehicle VCU log analysis.
  • Solid understanding of automotive product development processes and cross‑functional engineering practices.
  • Familiarity with test tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, dSPACE, NI, or equivalent.
  • Experience with diagnostic validation (UDS services, DTC verification, fault memory validation).
  • Experience with test scripting, log analysis, and large dataset validation.
  • Familiarity with issue tracking system such as PTRS and JIRA system.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately, ensuring data security and compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a OEM or Tier 1 in Automotive Industry environment is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Korean and English preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with global clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Define test strategy based on requirements and specifications regarding Automotive product.
  • Identify failures, root cause issues and recommend fixes.
  • Create scripts/tools to improve testing efficiency.
  • Write validation reports, test procedures, and compliance document.
  • Ensure all equipment, systems, and processes adhere to Automotive standards.
  • Communicate effectively with customers based on a solid understanding of vehicle simulation bench architecture and test environments.
  • Maintenance and management of test Bench equipment.
  • Clarify system requirements through detailed discussions and documentation.
  • Provide tailored solutions to address both technical and engineering-related challenges.
  • Assist customers in resolving technical and operational issues, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure programs are executed in accordance with Supplier Quality Management System (SQMS) requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable automotive standards and customer‑specific requirements, including IATF 16949, Automotive SPICE, ISO 17025.
  • Maintain working knowledge of safety policies and regulations and ensure all program activities are performed in a safe manner.
  • Conduct business trips to manufacturing sites or HQ to support customer visits and project reviews.
  • Function as a key representative during customer visits, ensuring a positive and productive experience.
  • Analyze test failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA) in collaboration with HW/SW teams.
  • Define and execute comprehensive validation strategies covering unit, integration, system, and vehicle-level testing.
  • Execute black-box and white-box testing for embedded software components.
