About The Position

The Server Design Validation Engineer tests and verifies server hardware, firmware, and systems. This individual-contributor role will help establish the US design validation team and lead testing for next-generation AI compute hardware, ensuring servers are stable, fast, and reliable. The engineer champions test requirement documentation and issue disposition across AI compute platforms, CPU features, memory, GPUs, and power systems. The role supports system integration testing and validation completion to customer schedule commitments. It includes test automation, verification, and debugging of data center AI compute systems from board level through server and rack stack. The engineer collaborates with design teams and component partners to resolve complex issues, and interacts directly with design partners for provisioning, co-debugging, technical support, and Tier 3 manufacturing escalations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
5–8 or more years of server validation or hardware testing experience.
Strong knowledge of x86 server architecture and chipsets.
Hands-on skills with test tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
Experience with BIOS, UEFI, and server management software.
Good coding skills in Python or C++ for test automation.
Skills in root-cause analysis for complex hardware failures.
Knowledge of PCIe, DDR memory, and Ethernet networking.

Responsibilities

Lead testing for next-generation AI compute hardware and verify server stability, performance, and reliability.
Champion test requirement documentation and issue disposition for AI compute platforms, CPU features, memory, GPUs, and power systems.
Find, log, and track hardware and firmware bugs.
Write automated test scripts in Python to accelerate testing.
Work with thermal and mechanical teams to assess system limits.
Help bring up new server platforms in the lab.
Drive system integration test execution and deliver validation completion according to customer schedule commitments.
Support test automation, verification, and debugging of data center AI compute system issues from board level through server and rack stack.
Collaborate with design teams and component partners to drive complex issues to closure.
Work directly with design partners on provisioning, co-debugging, and technical support.
Provide support for customer service issues, including Tier 3 manufacturing escalations.
