About The Position

The Valet Parker is responsible for greeting guests and visitors, assisting them with their vehicles and luggage, and ensuring parking areas are clear and safe. This role also involves providing information about hotel facilities and services, handling guest complaints, and delivering items to guest rooms. The Valet Parker must maintain the cleanliness and organization of work areas and ensure guest confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license in the state of hotel’s operations.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Ability to provide legible communication and directions.
  • Previous guest relations and/or training.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 21 due to insurance requirements.
  • Clean Driving Record.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.

Responsibilities

  • Greet arriving guests/visitors and bid farewell to departing guests/visitors.
  • Assist guests and visitors into and out of their vehicles, including loading/unloading luggage.
  • Ensure all driveways are kept clear and vehicles are not parked or left in illegal spaces.
  • Monitor all parking areas/levels and report any vehicle/safety hazards, unauthorized personnel, or potential security problems to the Manager.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas and rectify any deficiencies.
  • Identify and explain hotel facilities and features to guests while escorting them to their room.
  • Place guest luggage inside the room.
  • Relay accurate directions to guests regarding transportation within the local area.
  • Handle guest complaints by ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Deliver items to guest rooms promptly, including messages, mail, faxes, packages, flowers, sundry items, and gift items.
  • Monitor and maintain the appearance of lobby areas and luggage holding rooms.
  • Ensure confidentiality of hotel guests and security of guest room access.
  • Transport guest luggage to/from guest rooms.
  • Escort guests to rooms and inform guests of all hotel services and features.
  • Attend to the immediate needs of each guest upon arrival and provide continued attention throughout their stay.
  • Perform valet services, including driving, parking, and retrieving guest/visitor vehicles courteously, safely, and efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned.
