About The Position

The Valet Manager serves as the on-site operational lead responsible for overseeing daily Patient Assisted Parking Services operations at the Albany Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This position ensures continuous staffing coverage, compliance with contract requirements, maintenance of vehicle wait times under ten minutes, accountability of personnel and equipment, quality control reporting, and coordination with Veterans Affairs Medical Center personnel and Veterans Affairs Police. The Valet Manager functions as a working supervisor and may perform valet attendant duties as needed while monitoring staffing, customer service, safety, vehicle accountability, and overall contract performance. The solicitation does not require a separate supervisory labor category, but it anticipates that contract personnel may perform supervisory responsibilities while maintaining operational coverage.

Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Minimum 2 years of driving experience (automatic and manual)
  • 6 Months of patient assisted parking services experience in a healthcare setting serving patients of varying physical abilities
  • Comply with local traffic laws and VAMC campus traffic regulations
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication
  • Providing courteous, respectful, and professional customer service

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day oversight of Patient Assisted Parking Services operations at the Albany Stratton VAMC.
  • Coordinate staffing assignments between the front circle and designated patient parking lot to ensure continuous coverage.
  • Monitor staffing levels and employee break schedules to prevent any parking area from becoming unattended.
  • Ensure vehicle drop-off and pick-up wait times remain below ten (10) minutes.
  • Supervise and support Valet Attendants in the performance of daily parking operations.
  • Serve as a working manager and perform valet attendant duties when required to maintain service continuity.
  • Monitor compliance with customer service, safety, security, and vehicle accountability requirements.
  • Oversee accountability of customer vehicle keys, lock boxes, claim-check systems, radios, and other contractor-furnished equipment.
  • Ensure proper operation and utilization of the electronic claim-check and vehicle tracking system.
  • Maintain required daily logs, staffing records, timesheets, and vehicle count reports.
  • Submit required daily reports to the Contracting Officer's Representative.
  • Coordinate with VA Police regarding emergency communications, incidents, accidents, and key control procedures.
  • Ensure all contract personnel comply with VAMC policies, training requirements, badge requirements, and facility procedures.
  • Identify operational issues, performance risks, and safety concerns and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct quality control monitoring of staffing compliance, service performance, wait times, and incident reporting.
  • Support Contracting Officer Representative meetings, site visits, and performance discussions as required.
