About The Position

Assure guest’s clothing and hotel uniforms are properly processed ensuring their cleanliness and crispness for guest and hotel colleagues use follow and maintain Langham Hotel’s high standards of quality.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of stain removal and chemical cleaning agents, and operation of different types of equipment.
  • Ability to learn how to properly work with hazardous chemicals in accordance with company standards.
  • Ability to read and write basic English in order to complete forms such as a room status report.
  • Ability to organize and prioritized work, and meet deadlines.
  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 8th grade education preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous valet or laundry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meet guest requests of laundry pick from rooms, bring to the valet area, have the cloths processed (either internally or using an outside vendor).  The 2nd shift will return the clothing back to the guest room, leaving the items in the closet or otherwise instructed.
  • Press or steam guest’s or colleague uniforms as needed using the equipment in the valet area.
  • Wash guest’s or colleague’s uniforms as needed using the equipment in the valet area to the correct instructions as per the clothing’s label.
  • Record, track and stamp guest’s or colleague’s uniforms using the valet tracking system of number of pieces per batch..
  • Use of the equipment and dangerous chemicals in the valet laundry area which is inclusive of washers, dryers, shirt pressers, lazy suzies, flat pressers and uniform conveyor.
  • Utilize and understand the hotel’s uniform tracking system to be able to retrieve and give uniforms to the correct colleague in a timely manner.
  • Be able to clean rooms and public area
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Langham from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully support with the Hotel’s Shared Values for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate the Hotel Shared Values will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment
  • In slow season it is necessary to support in other areas such as housekeeping, public area, and room attendants.
  • Respond to guest questions. Provide guest assistance, directions, and information as requested.
