About The Position

The Valet Attendant is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and courteous valet parking service for hotel guests. This role parks and retrieves guest vehicles promptly using safe driving practices, supports traffic flow at the hotel entrance, and assists with guest service needs to help ensure a positive arrival and departure experience. The Valet Attendant follows hotel policies and safety procedures and maintains a professional appearance and service-focused attitude.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
  • Ability to safely operate a wide variety of vehicles, including luxury and oversized vehicles.
  • Knowledge of traffic control, parking procedures, and vehicle safety practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle guest concerns calmly and professionally.
  • Basic math skills and ability to follow cash handling procedures if applicable.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior valet parking, transportation, or related guest service experience preferred.
  • Experience driving automatic and manual transmission vehicles preferred.
  • Familiarity with local area routes and points of interest preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Park and retrieve guest vehicles in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
  • Issue claim checks and maintain accurate key/vehicle control using required logs, tickets, and systems.
  • Handle vehicles carefully and follow established safety procedures and hotel policies.
  • Assist with traffic flow at the hotel entrance to maintain safety and efficiency.
  • Performs light cleaning duties during each shift to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of communal hotel areas and other designated spaces. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, dusting, vacuuming, and window washing.
  • Promptly answer valet phones using positive, clear communication to coordinate guest requests as applicable.
  • Open vehicle doors and assist guests with loading and unloading luggage to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of traffic in the valet area, including issuing claim checks and tagging bags as needed.
  • Assist guests courteously with basic inquiries and directions and provide a hospitable service atmosphere.
  • Report maintenance deficiencies, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Assist other hotel departments as needed to support overall guest satisfaction.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Actively participate in and contributes into any/all initiatives when requested and/or required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
