Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Possession of a valid drivers license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Hands-on experience in driving vehicles including ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Ability to communicate so that others will understand both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed accuracy, follow through, and work with a minimum supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in hot/cold/wet weather conditions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to establish good rapport with clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with patients and employees.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a first point of contact for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff arriving at the hospital.
  • Provides safe, courteous, and efficient valet parking services while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor.
  • Greets guests, parks and retrieves vehicles, assists with directions, supports patient transport needs as appropriate, and ensures traffic flow remains safe and unobstructed at hospital entrances.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, maintains awareness of emergency vehicle access routes, and responds appropriately during high-volume and emergency situations while adhering to all hospital safety, security, and confidentiality standards.
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements.
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
  • Related duties as assigned.
