About The Position

The Vacuum Truck Operator is responsible for providing manpower to achieve project completion successfully and assisting the Project Manager in project success. The Operator reports directly to the Project Manager and may have Helpers reporting to them. The role involves performing daily routine maintenance on vehicles, ensuring equipment operates safely, keeping equipment clean, guiding and teaching Helpers, fueling equipment, and preparing trucks for mobilization to new project sites. The Operator is also responsible for maintaining a project log, understanding work assignments from Project Management, and adhering to company policies and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Provide manpower efforts to achieve Project completion as successful.
  • Assist the Project Manager in Project success.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance on vehicles prior to starting work.
  • Ensure all equipment is operating safely.
  • Keep all equipment clean, including outside and inside.
  • Guide and teach Helpers to work in a responsible and safe manner.
  • Demonstrate proper use of equipment.
  • Fuel up all equipment in the afternoon.
  • Dump all water and debris before mobilizing trucks to another project site.
  • Maintain a project log - documenting all pertinent information.
  • Be organized and have a clear understanding from Project Management as to where you are to work and what your responsibilities are.
  • Begin work on time every day work is scheduled for you.
  • Dress properly for work: Proper Safety Equipment.
  • Make sure all equipment and paperwork is in place BEFORE you mobilize to the job site.
  • Report all subordinates that are not following standard procedures to the Project Manager.
  • Use correct tools for appropriate applications.
  • Complete all paperwork - every field applicable.
  • Do not take parts or tools from other trucks without permission from Project Manager.
  • When receiving equipment from other sites, check out the equipment thoroughly.
  • Inform the Project Manager of any problems that arise.
  • Perform work in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Perform work, keeping safety and quality as a prime consideration.
  • Keep safety as a prime consideration when working and when handling equipment.
  • Adhere to the codes of the company's Employee Manual.
  • Maintain a constructive environment at work.
  • Adhere to written Standard Operating Procedures for all aspects of this position.
  • Adhere to departmental operating guidelines.
  • Provide insightful and enthusiastic teamwork that generally creates positive attitudes and builds supportive morale.
  • Maintain open communications and a harmonious working relationship with all personnel, but in particular with those involved in a reporting relationship.
  • Attend weekly safety meetings.
  • Help resolve project conflicts.
  • Participate in seminars to train all departmental personnel when needed.
  • Learn product knowledge and procedural proficiencies.
  • Conduct all operations within established budgets.
  • Use and submit all forms and reports in a complete, accurate, and timely basis.
  • Respect and maintain proper filing systems.
  • Ensure your work areas and equipment are clean and presentable to customers and other visitors.
  • Maintain a reasonable work environment and provide adequate safeguards for your work-related health and safety.
  • Comply with all Federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain all external relationships consistent with the objectives, operating philosophy, and desired image of the company, re: customer relations, public relations, vendor relations, community relations.
  • Maintain confidentiality on all corporate subjects so classified.
  • Meet or beat all budgets, time schedules, and performance evaluation goals at least 95% of the time, without sacrificing quality or safety.

Responsibilities

  • Keep all equipment clean, including outside and inside.
  • Guide and teach Helpers to work in a responsible and safe manner. Demonstrate proper use of equipment.

  • Dump all water and debris before mobilizing trucks to another project site.
  • Maintain a project log - documenting all pertinent information, including date, equipment used, employees on crew, production numbers, hours worked, problems, and general information.
  • Be organized and have a clear understanding from Project Management as to where you are to work and what your responsibilities are. This includes both physical labor and paperwork functions.
  • Begin work on time every day work is scheduled for you.
  • Dress properly for work: Proper Safety Equipment.
  • Make sure all equipment and paperwork is in place BEFORE you mobilize to the job site.
  • Report all subordinates that are not following standard procedures to the Project Manager.
