The Vacation Relief Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of various areas within a building and its grounds. This includes cleaning and polishing fixtures and surfaces, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and polishing floors, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, washing walls, windows, and sills, and emptying wastebaskets. The role also involves cleaning vacant apartments, managing the compactor room (checking, removing full bags, sweeping, mopping, disinfecting), replenishing bathroom supplies, replacing light bulbs, and cleaning garage, basement, and outdoor grounds. Additionally, the porter will shovel snow and clear walkways in winter and transport small equipment or tools between departments, performing other assigned duties as needed.
