About The Position

This position has a rotating schedule on 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. The role involves operating plant equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining fill weights, completing documentation, and assisting with packaging equipment. The operator will also be responsible for sanitation, material handling, and performing maintenance tasks. Additionally, the operator must be able to run a shift in the absence of a supervisor and coordinate daily production activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Production or general work experienced preferred
  • Knowledge of plant operations
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal dairy and aseptic regulations.
  • Must have a valid CDPH Cannery Operator's License; or obtain license during training within two testing opportunities/30 days and a valid Pasteurizers License or obtain one within 90 days.
  • Must have working knowledge of sanitation process, maintain a clean workstation during all
  • Able to be company certified user of material handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, barrel trucks, reel dollies, and reel clamps.
  • Ability to use and understand Plant equipment
  • Able to operate production equipment, components, and peripheral accessories
  • Able to effectively work in a team environment
  • Able to follow directions and carry out instructions
  • Able to legibly write entries for record keeping
  • Able to take appropriate steps to find solutions to problems
  • Able to perform task and duties under general supervision
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English

Responsibilities

  • Operate Plant Equipment in a safe and efficient manner which includes problem recognition
  • Maintain proper operation of fill weights; adjust as necessary
  • Complete all required documentation accurately, thoroughly and CCP documentation is an essential requirement that must be flawless at all times.
  • Complete required package integrity
  • Operate and clean package coding equipment; maintain ink
  • Pull lab samples and keep accurate sample
  • Handle all packaging material in a safe and sanitary
  • Complete all material splices in a safe, efficient and sanitary
  • Change gaskets, valve maintenance and change sterile air filters according to maintenance
  • Clean conveyors inside and outside the filler; clean filler room
  • Ability to perform PM's and services on pumps, valves, tanks, homogenizers, VTIS equipment and fillers
  • Maintain proper levels in the hydrogen peroxide, caustic and acid
  • Complete assigned sanitation responsibilities and document as required by the Master Sanitation Program to maintain area sanitation requirements.
  • Assist downstream packaging equipment operators
  • Reset all Plant Codes and fill out Plant Code Change
  • Must be able to run shift in absence of a supervisor, coordinate daily production activities with
