About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Vac Truck Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of vac trucks and heavy equipment used in industrial and construction settings. Your expertise will ensure that our equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operational goals. Requirements

  • Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive repair in a dealership or industrial setting.
  • Strong background in diesel engine repair with knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components.
  • Familiarity with schematics reading for troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, tire service, suspension systems, shocks & struts, brake repair, and power tools usage.
  • Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly.
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong customer service skills to support team collaboration and client satisfaction.
  • At least 2-3 years as a diesel mechanic
  • no dui in last 7 years

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering is highly desirable.
  • ASE certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on vac trucks, including diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, and HVAC components.
  • Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
  • Conduct fabrication tasks such as welding, soldering, and assembly of parts to repair or modify equipment as needed.
  • Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers to facilitate repairs or move equipment safely within the shop or job sites.
  • Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed using computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Assist with tire service, wheel alignments, air brake systems, and other vehicle maintenance tasks to ensure optimal safety standards.
  • Use power tools and hand tools proficiently for assembly, disassembly, welding, or fabrication projects while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Support customer service efforts by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding repair status and recommendations.
