About The Position

The Vice President of Human Resources is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for developing and executing the organization's HR strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction. This includes leadership in talent management, organizational development, culture, total rewards, compliance, and workforce planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Professional certification such as SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or an equivalent senior-level HR credential strongly preferred.
  • Experience overseeing HR strategy in a growing or complex organization.
  • Prior experience managing managers strongly preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align HR strategy with organizational goals.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and organizational development principles.
  • Ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically as needed.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer, participating in meetings, or conducting presentations.
  • Capability to occasionally lift and carry items up to 15–20 pounds (e.g., training materials, files, laptop equipment).
  • Occasional walking, bending, or reaching when navigating office areas, attending onsite sessions, or supporting employee-related activities.
  • Sufficient visual and auditory ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through virtual meeting platforms.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for leadership meetings, training, or company events.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership Develop and implement HR strategies that support business goals and promote organizational effectiveness and growth.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on organizational structure, talent needs, and workforce planning.
  • Lead initiatives to build and sustain a high-performance culture aligned with company values.
  • People & Organizational Development Oversee talent management programs including recruitment strategy, leadership development, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the organization.
  • Ensure effective organizational design to support company growth and operational efficiency.
  • Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Partner with Accounting on HR budget planning and workforce forecasting.
  • Evaluate and update compensation structures annually.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance Serve as the senior-most leader responsible for maintaining a positive employee relations environment.
  • Oversee compliance with employment laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Review and approve HR policies and ensure consistent application across the organization.
  • HR Team Leadership Directly manage and mentor the HR Manager, providing guidance on operational HR activities.
  • Set expectations and strategic direction for the HR Manager, who in turn leads the broader HR team.
  • Build a high-performing HR team and ensure clear communication and collaboration across functions.
