About The Position

ECC is seeking a UXO Technician II for work in Texarkana, TX. This is a full-time, long-term project that is expected to last 1.3 years. Local candidates or candidates looking to relocate are encouraged to apply. Due to the length of project there is no lodging, meals, or transportation assistance available. Employees must be able to provide for their personal daily transportation to / from work site. Position is currently scheduled for a 4 day, 10 hour workday (Monday - Thursday), with work periods on Friday or weekends possible to make-up for delays or inclement weather during the standard work week. This position is responsible for performing surface clearances, explosive disposal/demolition operations, inspection/certifications of debris materials, inspection/certification of debris materials, MEC escort/anomaly avoidance, and other related site operations. In addition, this position may conduct vegetation removal, minor fence repair, along with performing periodic inspections of site features and monitoring wells.

Requirements

Ability to communicate in written and verbal formats
Must be able to perform all principal accountabilities of UXO Tech I
Competent in use of personal data assistants (PDAs)
Will need DBIDS passes
Will require a current Passport and Current and Valid Federal Approved State Driver’s license
Divers conducting underwater detection and identification of munitions must have completed both the basic and the underwater portions of NAVSCOLEOD (or foreign equivalent) training
40-hour HAZWOPER training and annual 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher training
Three years of progressively responsible experience in EOD, UXO, range clearance and/or other munitions response operations
High school diploma
Must be a graduate of US Naval EOD School, acceptable Allied Nation EOD school (Great Britain, Germany, Australia, Canada) or accredited UXO Technician Level I training program and with appropriate experience as required by Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board (DDESB) Technical Paper (TP) 18
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement

Nice To Haves

An Explosives Blaster’s License for the multiple states
A commercial Drivers License with HAZMAT endorsement
Proficiency in operating a certain types mechanical equipment, such as dozer, back hoe, loader, track hoe, and gravel sifting plants
Construction Safety Certification
Experienced in sifting operations
First Aid training
Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows

Responsibilities

Perform surface clearances
Perform explosive disposal/demolition operations
Perform inspection/certifications of debris materials
Perform MEC escort/anomaly avoidance
Perform other related site operations
Conduct vegetation removal
Perform minor fence repair
Perform periodic inspections of site features and monitoring wells
Properly store explosive materials per applicable guidance
Determine precise location in field environment using a variety of techniques such as use of global positioning equipment, or basic land navigation techniques using topographical map and compass
Perform field collection procedures to identify contaminated soil
Prepare an on-site holding area to temporarily stow MEC that has an acceptable risk of movement
Operate modes of transportation for transporting UXO, for which the risk of movement has been determined acceptable, when appropriate
Perform limited technical supervision of UXOSP Escort personnel who are not directly involved in UXO-related operations (e.g., personnel performing environmental monitoring), but have activities to perform within exclusion areas
Inspect MPPEH for the presence of explosives safety hazards
