About The Position

We are seeking a UX Strategist to take ownership of optimization strategy across a portfolio of eCommerce clients — leading with data prowess, sharp analytical judgment, and the ability to turn performance data into a compelling story that drives action. This is a leadership role, not a support function. The UX Strategist owns the end-to-end optimization strategy for each account: the analytics and measurement foundation it's built on, the roadmap it produces, and the narrative that gets stakeholders to act. You set the direction; cross-functional teams execute against it. You will operate at the intersection of analytics leadership, UX strategy, and business consulting — using platforms like GA4, Shopify, and testing tools not just to report on performance, but to build the measurement backbone that makes every insight defensible and every recommendation persuasive. The ideal candidate is a strategic operator and a strong storyteller with data who can: Own optimization strategy end-to-end — from measurement design through roadmap to results, Connect onsite behavior to business outcomes with rigor and clarity, Lead experimentation programs tied to revenue, LTV, and retention, Turn dense analytics into a performance narrative that moves clients and stakeholders to act.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years in UX, CRO, Product Analytics, or Digital Strategy, with demonstrated ownership of optimization strategy — not just execution
  • Proven track record of driving measurable business impact through data-driven optimization
  • Deep expertise in Google Analytics (GA4), Shopify analytics & reporting, and A/B testing platforms (e.g. Optimizely, Convert, Shoplift, VWO, Intelligems)
  • Strong command of GA4 event architecture, including custom event design, funnel setup, and debugging tracking issues
  • Skilled at analyzing multi-step conversion funnels and user journeys to identify drop-offs and opportunities
  • Ability to translate raw, complex data into clear reporting and executive-level insight — this is a core strength, not a secondary skill
  • Strong quantitative skillset with the ability to interpret complex, ambiguous datasets
  • Ability to connect user behavior with business performance and financial outcomes
  • Experience owning and prioritizing optimization roadmaps
  • Hands-on experience designing, executing, and analyzing A/B tests
  • Strong understanding of experimentation frameworks and statistical significance
  • Ability to lead and scale experimentation programs across multiple initiatives
  • Exceptional storytelling ability — translating dense data into a clear, actionable, business-relevant narrative
  • Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders in a consultative, advisory capacity
  • Confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making through data-backed narrative
  • Demonstrated ability to lead optimization strategy across design, development, and product teams
  • Ability to drive execution and influence outcomes without direct authority
  • Strong ownership, organization, and accountability

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in eCommerce, subscription models, or DTC brands
  • Familiarity with tools like Hotjar, FullStory, Elevar, Looker, or BigQuery
  • Background in UX design or product strategy

Responsibilities

  • Own Optimization Strategy & Data-Driven Opportunity Identification: Take ownership of the optimization strategy for each account — setting direction, not just surfacing findings. Analyze onsite performance data (GA4, Shopify, heatmaps, etc.) to identify friction points, drop-offs, and growth opportunities across the customer journey. Connect user behavior to business KPIs (CVR, AOV, LTV, churn, retention, etc.) with demonstrated data process. Synthesize large, messy datasets into sharp, decision-ready insight.
  • Strategic Roadmap Leadership: Lead the development of prioritized optimization roadmaps aligned with client business goals. Evaluate opportunities using structured prioritization frameworks (impact, effort, confidence). Balance short-term wins with long-term strategic initiatives, and defend the trade-offs with data.
  • Experimentation Leadership: Own and lead A/B testing programs across multiple clients. Define hypotheses rooted in data and behavioral insight. Partner with design and development teams to execute experiments. Analyze results with statistical rigor and lead the scaling of winning solutions across the experience.
  • Analytics, Measurement Strategy & Performance Reporting: Own the measurement strategy for each account: custom events, funnel tracking, and KPI architecture within GA4 and Shopify. Build and analyze end-to-end conversion funnels (landing → PDP → cart → checkout → purchase → retention). Identify tracking gaps and lead engineering/data partners through robust event instrumentation. Build reporting and dashboards (GA4, Looker, etc.) that make performance and experiment impact instantly legible. Own the performance narrative end-to-end — what happened, why it happened, and what to do next — turning analytics into a story stakeholders act on.
  • Client Strategy, Advisory & Performance Storytelling: Serve as the strategic and analytical lead for clients, guiding optimization decisions with clarity and authority. Present insights and performance narratives with compelling, business-focused storytelling that lands with senior stakeholders. Bridge data, UX, and business strategy into a single, coherent point of view.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution: Lead collaboration with UX designers, UI developers, and project managers to bring recommendations to life. Ensure strategic intent survives design and development execution. Drive alignment across teams and accounts, leading without relying on direct authority.
  • Continuous Optimization & Performance Measurement: Define and evolve KPIs and measurement frameworks aligned to revenue, LTV, and retention. Track performance of optimization initiatives and iterate based on results. Establish scalable, repeatable measurement and reporting processes across accounts.
