About The Position

UX Programs & Operations drives projects by increasing communication, streamlining the UX design process, and fostering a culture of user-centered development. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, to create industry-leading products based on user insights. As a UX Program Manager, you will combine expert project management with a passion for user experience to improve the design of products used by billions. Your role is to plan projects, define milestones, assess risks, create actionable insights, and ensure deadlines are met. You will harmonize the work of various UX disciplines and cross-functional partners to drive team objectives and create innovative experiences. In this program management role, you will build and execute end-to-end UX programs and operational frameworks across the AI Foundations organization and the Privacy, Safety, and Security (PSS) pillars. In this role you will build and execute plans for programs, initially deploying into the highest-priority, critical-path projects across both domains. As these teams grow and AI fundamentally transforms our collective ways of working, you will help ensure our program management workflows support this evolving landscape proactively identifying opportunities to modernize how our design teams execute while simultaneously driving the direct delivery of core product features. You will develop a strong working knowledge of AI platforms, software infrastructure, data systems, and cybersecurity, leveraging your innate curiosity to onboard quickly, build networks with key stakeholders, and successfully navigate ambiguity in the AI era. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in program management within design or UX organizations.
Experience with user research, or research focused tools and user centered methodologies.
Experience working in AI/ML products, software developer tooling, data, privacy, safety, or security domains.
Experience using generative AI tools.

Nice To Haves

Experience with the product development lifecycle.
Experience analyzing data and delivering recommendations for improvement.
Experience managing risks (e.g., operational, product, team health).

Responsibilities

Provide operational excellence across UX teams, while building strong collaborative relationships with appropriate stakeholders across program work.
Develop a plan to assess continuous improvement opportunities for UX programs and processes. Decide on the method to collect data, analyze the data for insights, propose improvements and test them with stakeholders.
Provide input to defining metrics that drive a culture of user-centered development and demonstrate UX impact based on program needs, and facilitate alignment within UX. Execute plans to establish baselines, track and report on UX metrics.
Scale, prioritize and independently execute project plans end-to-end, thinking about how to optimize resourcing, time, and funding investment.
