SEIU Intra-Departmental Opportunity Pilot Program: UX Designer The County Administration and FES Division is seeking a participant in the SEIU Intra Departmental Opportunity Pilot Program (IDOPP) focusing on an UX Designer capacity. The chosen candidate will undergo an orientation upon their on-boarding to ensure understanding of the role's responsibilities and objectives. The specific work schedule will be agreed upon between the candidate, the sending manager, and the receiving manager. The experience is envisioned to encompass approximately 19.5 hours per week (not to exceed 49% of the employee’s time) for 12 months. Duties and tasks may include: Converts research findings into actionable results; Identifies and evaluates risks and responses and makes recommendations regarding whether website user experience changes should be approved; Participates in the development and implementation of UX policies, process and standards; Uses photographic library to grab images and integrate into the Web design; Conducts user research using methods such as: ethnographic field studies, participatory design sessions, site visits, focus groups, benchmark studies, usability studies, heuristic evaluations, and similar approaches; Analyzes user feedback and activity, and incorporates findings in an iterative manner; Troubleshoots glitches and problems with website design; Updates database of research; Creates graphical assets and icons for use in user interface products; models graphic designs based on standards and branding; Helps maintain the UX library and toolkit; Collects, reviews, and may assist in refining client requirements; Translates business requirements into user experience design specifications; Translates requirements into storyboards, site maps, user journeys, user flows, user layouts, and use cases; Program specifics and SEIU approved documents can be reviewed online in the programs SharePoint site at TSS Intra-Departmental Opportunity Pilot Program . Program highlights include: Participation in this program is completely voluntary for all parties involved: the participating employee, the sending manager (the current manager of the employee), and the receiving manager (the manager hosting the opportunity). The participating employee must hold permanent status in their current position prior to the commencement of the opportunity. Work out of class (WOOC) is not an option. The program involvement and outcome cannot be grieved. No more than 49% of a participant's time is allowed to be dedicated to participation in this program. The participating employee does not need to meet the employment standards for the position/opportunity for which they are applying. Time and experience in this program can be applied to future applications. The agreement may be terminated upon written notice submitted by the sending supervisor/manager, receiving supervisor/manager, and/or participant provided that the notice is sent to all three parties a minimum of two weeks in advance of the termination date.
