About The Position

At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. As a UX Design Associate, you'll help create digital experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and meaningful for customers. You'll explore how people interact with technology, identify opportunities to improve those experiences, and contribute design solutions that make products easier to use and understand. Working alongside experienced designers, researchers, product teams, and engineers, you'll help turn customer and business needs into user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and experience concepts. You'll contribute throughout the design process, from discovery and research through to testing and delivery. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience designing for enterprise-scale products while learning how emerging technologies, including AI-enabled experiences, are changing the way people interact with digital products. You'll balance creative problem solving with structured analysis, using research and feedback to inform design decisions and improve customer outcomes. Through Kyndryl's Early Career experience, you'll strengthen your skills in user research, interaction design, accessibility, facilitation, and storytelling while building a portfolio of real-world work that delivers meaningful impact.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or equivalent practical experience completed recently or expected before start date
Academic, internship, volunteer, or project experience in UX design, human-centred design, interaction design, psychology, human-computer interaction, or a related field
Understanding of user-centred design principles and design thinking methodologies
Experience creating wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, user flows, or similar design deliverables
Experience using Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar design tools
Ability to gather, organize, and interpret user feedback and research insights
Experience collaborating on team-based projects with multiple stakeholders
Interest in designing accessible, inclusive, and customer-focused digital experiences

Nice To Haves

Portfolio demonstrating UX, product design, service design, or innovation-focused projects
Exposure to usability testing, customer research, or workshop facilitation
Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
Interest in AI-enabled experiences and emerging interaction patterns
Experience using AI-supported design or productivity tools such as Figma AI, Miro AI, Adobe Firefly, or similar solutions

Responsibilities

Support user research activities to better understand customer goals, challenges, and opportunities
Participate in interviews, workshops, usability testing, and other research activities
Organize research findings and help translate insights into design opportunities
Create journey maps, personas, workflows, and other experience design artefacts
Develop wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and experience concepts for digital products
Contribute to experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and easy to navigate
Translate customer needs and business requirements into practical design solutions
Apply human-centred design principles throughout the design process
Partner with designers, researchers, engineers, and product teams to develop customer-focused solutions
Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into evolving concepts
Help communicate design ideas through visual storytelling, presentations, and prototypes
Balance customer expectations, business goals, and technical considerations when developing solutions
Contribute to projects that incorporate AI-enabled experiences and digital innovation
Explore how evolving technologies can support better user experiences and customer outcomes
Use design and productivity tools to support research, ideation, and prototyping activities
Help evaluate new concepts through testing, feedback, and iteration
Build expertise in UX research, interaction design, accessibility, and digital product design
Learn from experienced designers through coaching, collaboration, and hands-on project work
Develop a portfolio of customer-focused design experiences
Expand your ability to solve complex problems through research, creativity, and collaboration
