About The Position

Under the direction of the program Director, Manager, and/or Supervisor, the resource specialist is accountable for facilitating, confirming, and/or accurately documenting insurance authorization information. This position will respond to requests from the utilization review department and central access department for assistance with authorization confirmation and/or entry into the computer system. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Good communication skills – Ability to communicate effectively in written format and/or oral presentations
Strong analytical & problem solving skills; semi-independent in decision making
Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
Exhibit initiative, responsibility & flexibility
Must be able to initiate and understand research related to projects
Learn and appropriately utilize all required computer applications, including but not limited to E-mail, Windows-based or Microsoft programs
Ability to write effective documentation for processes and procedures
Ability to make routine decisions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures

Nice To Haves

One year hospital and/or healthcare experience
