About The Position

Citizens Health is recruiting a Utilization Review Coordinator to work full-time in our hospital. Our Mission: Enhancing the lives of those we serve. About Us: Citizens Health is a community based, private, not-for-profit organization. It is comprised of: Citizens Medical Center - a 25 bed critical access hospital, Family Center for Health Care - an outpatient rural health clinic, Prairie Senior - a skilled nursing facility, Citizens Clubhouse - an onsite childcare center that cares for children 6 weeks to school age for our workforce, and Citizens Medical Equipment - our durable medical equipment business, and Palace Drug Store - our outpatient pharmacy. We strive to be progressive, dependable and knowledgeable, while providing compassionate, evidence-based care to the residents of northwest Kansas. Location: 1525 S Franklin Ave, Colby, Kansas. Position Information: The Utilization Review Coordinator ensures the utilization review function of the hospital is carried out as required. Pay Range: dependent upon experience.

Requirements

Associate degree in Medical Record Science or graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Minimum of two years in the Health Information Department or as a registered nurse.
Proficient in medical record review.
Knowledge of CMS Prospective Payment System.
Must be knowledgeable in use of computer terminals and/or personal computers.
Current licensure with the Kansas Board of Nursing Examiners or ART.
Experience in office productivity software (email, calendar, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, etc.).
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct Utilization Review activities.
Ensure overall Utilization Review function of the hospital is carried out as required.
Obtain certification of patients, as required.
Coordinate Quality Assessment and Risk Management program within the department.
Provide educational training to staff.
Continue professional growth and development.
