About The Position

Citizens Health is recruiting a Utilization Review Coordinator to work full-time in our hospital. Our Mission: Enhancing the lives of those we serve. About Us: Citizens Health is a community based, private, not-for-profit organization. It is comprised of: Citizens Medical Center - a 25 bed critical access hospital, Family Center for Health Care - an outpatient rural health clinic, Prairie Senior - a skilled nursing facility, Citizens Clubhouse - an onsite childcare center that cares for children 6 weeks to school age for our workforce, and Citizens Medical Equipment - our durable medical equipment business, and Palace Drug Store - our outpatient pharmacy. We strive to be progressive, dependable and knowledgeable, while providing compassionate, evidence-based care to the residents of northwest Kansas. Location: 1525 S Franklin Ave, Colby, Kansas. Position Information: The Utilization Review Coordinator ensures the utilization review function of the hospital is carried out as required. Pay Range: dependent upon experience.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Medical Record Science or graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of two years in the Health Information Department or as a registered nurse.
  • Proficient in medical record review.
  • Knowledge of CMS Prospective Payment System.
  • Must be knowledgeable in use of computer terminals and/or personal computers.
  • Current licensure with the Kansas Board of Nursing Examiners or ART.
  • Experience in office productivity software (email, calendar, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, etc.).
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, is open minded and a team player.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with good energy.
  • Create a positive, supportive working atmosphere.
  • Display integrity and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Utilization Review activities.
  • Ensure overall Utilization Review function of the hospital is carried out as required.
  • Obtain certification of patients, as required.
  • Coordinate Quality Assessment and Risk Management program within the department.
  • Provide educational training to staff.
  • Continue professional growth and development.
