About The Position

Operate a wide variety of machines and equipment to produce quality components in a timely manner. This role involves setting up and operating equipment for various operations such as sawing, forming, bending, deburring, degreasing, and plating. The Utility Worker will work from blueprints, drawings, travelers, and specifications to plan work sequences and produce quality components. They will also utilize lifting equipment to move and stage materials and must adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Assistance in training may also be required, along with other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to use basic shop math.
  • Knowledge of computer operation and related software required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Operate fork lift truck (will be licensed in accordance with OSHA power industrial truck operator requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate equipment to saw, form, bend, trim, debur, degrease, plate and to perform other ancillary operations.
  • Read blueprints, work from drawings, travelers and specifications to plan work in proper operational sequence to produce quality components.
  • Utilize various types of lifting equipment as needed to move and stage material for all operations in department.
  • Adhere to all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in training where needed.
  • Detect quantity discrepancies, defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to proper supervision.
  • Complete data transactions where necessary.
  • Perform changing lubrication, cleaning and maintenance of equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
  • Possess a working knowledge of all job related Quality Management System operating procedures and work instructions.
