About The Position

Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Utility Worker at the Bradford PA Plant. Utilities are responsible for general housekeeping of the production area, packing, case making, inspecting, and other general factory tasks in accordance with established procedures, specifications, and other guidelines. The primary duties of a Utility role include understanding, following, and enforcing all established safety, health, quality GMP, and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices. They participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned. Responsibilities also include visually inspecting finished product for defects, ensuring cases are properly sealed, packing bottles according to customer specifications, clearing trimmer jams and restarting, and shutting off/on the trimmer safely. The role requires notifying supervisors or leads of potential problems with finished product and/or machinery, de-labeling and grinding bottles as necessary while checking for contamination before grinding, and properly strapping, tying, stacking, and orienting cases and units in the correct unit load pattern to satisfy customer requests. Additionally, the Utility Worker must use case making equipment safely, maintain hot/cold glue tanks by keeping them full, perform fiber tear checks to ensure proper glue application and pattern, and notify the appropriate coworker, forklift driver, or assignee when supplies at the machine need replenishment. Communication with the incoming shift or line replacement on any problems with quality, machine, and packing configurations is essential. The role involves assisting with rework and heldware to ensure effective completion, restarting, starting, stopping, and clearing all downstream equipment as required, and assisting in the training of permanent and temporary workforces in stacking, packing quality, and case machines. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work area and other facilities, and completing written documentation as required are also key duties. Basic stretch wrapper functions may be performed. Limited travel may be required.

Requirements

Responsibilities
