About The Position

UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Utility Worker opportunity for our customer in Aiken, South Carolina to support Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS). Laborers must be qualified and hired from the local Union hall and hold qualifications from the local Union. Laborers are involved in a variety of activities during all phases of construction. Laborer tasks include, but are not limited to, preparing and cleaning up construction sites, using tools such as shovels and brooms. Other laborers, such as those on road crews, may specialize and learn to control traffic patterns or to operate pavement breakers, jackhammers, earth tampers, or surveying equipment, and assisting construction trades workers with a variety of tasks. Laborers may be required to carry tools and materials or help set up equipment assist with tool maintenance, cleaning up sites, and disposing of waste, as well as providing other construction tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Qualified and hired from the local Union hall and hold qualifications from the local Union
  • Minimum Qualifications Level A – 0 to 6 months experience in craft
  • Knowledge of basic construction math
  • Journey Level – over 6 months experience in craft
  • Basic construction drawing and blueprint knowledge
  • Identify, use & care of common hand and power tools
  • Identify building materials, fasteners, and adhesives
  • US Citizenship or Certification Required
  • Birth Certificate or certified copy of Birth Certificate issued by a U.S. State or by the U.S. Department of State (Form FS-240); U.S. Passport, issued by the U.S. Department of State; Certificate of U.S. Citizenship issued to a person born outside the United States who derived or acquired U.S. citizenship through a U.S. citizen parent (INS Form N-560 or N-561); or Certificate of Naturalization issued to a person who became a U.S. citizen after 18 years of age through the naturalization process (INS Form N-550 or N-570).

  • Perform fire watch and/or confined space hole watch
