About The Position

The Utility Worker performs custodial, groundskeeping, basic maintenance, and construction labor duties and services as needed and assigned by the Division Manager. The role helps keep buildings and rehabilitation homes clean, maintains landscaping and grounds, and supports maintenance staff and construction-site work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or one year of work experience performing similar functions in the field.
• Possess a Texas driver's license and be insurable.
• Successfully pass a post-offer drug screen and criminal history background check.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer and personal services.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance functions.
• Ability to participate in a scheduled after-business-hours on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors and in inclement weather.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with coworkers.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to identify safety hazards.
• Ability to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop, clean windows, service restrooms, and empty trash containers to keep building interiors, exteriors, and rehabilitation homes clean.
• Use tools, equipment, and machinery to maintain landscaping and grounds.
• Assist and support maintenance department staff.
• Perform physical labor at construction sites.
• Keep tools, machinery, and equipment clean.
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned.
