About The Position

At Mennonite Village, our dining services team plays a vital role in supporting the health, comfort, and quality of life of the residents we serve. We are currently seeking a Utility Worker who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment while supporting meal service for our senior living community. This is an entry-level position and a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, being part of a team, and making a meaningful difference behind the scenes.

Requirements

• Valid Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work a consistent schedule and maintain regular attendance
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically active environment

Responsibilities

• Scraping, rinsing, loading, and unloading dishes and utensils from the dishwasher
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the dish room and equipment
• Keeping a continuous supply of clean dishware available for service
• Assisting with food preparation tasks, including basic prep such as vegetable preparation
• Supporting food storage, restocking, and inventory practices using FIFO guidelines
• Maintaining sanitation logs, food temperature records, and cleaning schedules
• Sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and completing routine and deep cleaning tasks
• Assisting with meal delivery and supporting team operations as needed
• Following all food safety, infection control, and workplace safety procedures
