The Utility Worker position is primarily performed outdoors. Employees in this position are often working near public roadways, exposed to traffic, and sometimes in inclement weather. Additional job site conditions include working in or next to open wet wells, manholes, trenches, sewage, & various chemicals. The employee may also be exposed to such conditions as dampness, direct sunlight, heavy machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, and noise. This role involves performing a variety of tasks involving manual labor in heavy construction projects, including pump station demolition and rehabilitation. Responsibilities include excavating and exposing utility piping, performing confined space entries to access wastewater wet wells for demolition, and engaging in various trades such as carpentry, concrete work, pipework, plumbing, grading, and landscaping. The job also requires maintaining a clean and safe job site, handling and storing materials, and loading/unloading trucks. Regular in-person attendance is required.
