About The Position

This position is for a Utility Worker - P3, a Regular Full-Time role within the P3 production lines. The primary responsibilities include removing foreign material and defects from the product line, performing scheduled cleanups, and gaining knowledge of at least two positions. Certification is awarded after learning one position, with a requirement to achieve certification for a second position within one year of learning the first.

Requirements

  • Complete knowledge of two positions is required.
  • Certification for the second position must be achieved within one year of learning the first position.
  • Requires reasonable care and common sense to avoid damage to product.
  • Requires constant visual alertness.
  • Required to work with high-pressure steam and water hoses, and foamers.
  • Required to lift weights up to 65 lbs., and more, if lifting with a second person.
  • Requires the use of personal protective equipment while performing cleanup duties.
  • Work with alkaline, acids and caustic chemicals in industrial strengths.
  • Required to work all factory clean-ups.
  • May be required to wear a respirator.
  • Required to use SAP and Infinity programs.
  • Required to be forklift certified.

Responsibilities

  • Remove foreign material and defects from line flow as directed.
  • Perform scheduled cleanups.
  • Trim defects from raw product with a knife wearing cut-resistant gloves.
  • Remove foreign material and non-process able product from line-flow.
  • Use proper trimming techniques to minimize over-trim and waste.
  • Hand-sort product to remove foreign material and defects from line-flow.
  • Use proper sorting techniques to ensure efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Adhere to sanitation standards when handling product.
  • Inspect product and bags for proper condition and/or seal.
  • Form cases and insert bags working at line speed.
  • Open and prepare cases so they can be re-used on the packaging line.
  • Clean equipment, walls and floors with chemicals during factory cleanup.
  • Use shovels, brooms and squeegees to assist in cleaning work areas.
  • Adhere to stringent sanitation standards when handling product.
  • Take necessary precautions to avoid product contamination while cleaning.
  • Promote job safety.
  • Practice the principles of continuous improvement Philosophy.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of quality and production line problems.
  • Keep work area clean, neat, and orderly.
  • Maintain cross-training and upgrade qualifications on one or more upgrades.
  • Perform two jobs and full cleanups on all P3 Production Lines.
  • Assemble and disassemble all P3 equipment.
