About The Position

The City of St. Helens is recruiting a motivated full-time Utility Worker I to join our esteemed Public Works team. This position offers competitive starting pay beginning at $4,127 per month, complemented by excellent benefits. Requirements

• Documented high school diploma or GED (must be verifiable)
• Valid state driver's license
• CDL certification (or the ability to obtain one)
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Skill in operating relevant tools and equipment
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, and the public
• Basic knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods, and procedures used in maintenance, construction, and repair activities

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing vital infrastructure such as water, sewer, street, and storm drainage systems.
• Conducting routine inspections.
• Promptly responding to service requests.
• Collaborating effectively with team members to ensure operational excellence.
• Upholding City's standards of service and reliability through dedication to safety and meticulous recordkeeping.
