About The Position

Harborview Medical Center – Environmental Services Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Utility Worker 2. WORK SCHEDULE 100% FTE (40 hours per week) Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM May require the ability to work weekends and holidays DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Environmental Services (EVS) Department supports a safe, clean, and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The team helps maintain hospital operations through supply management, equipment support, and responsive service to hospital units. Requirements

Physical strength to perform required work
One year of work experience that includes operation of power equipment such as tampers, jackhammers, trucks, or wheel tractors
Equivalent education and experience may substitute for required qualifications

Responsibilities

Maintain stockroom cleanliness, organization, and safe workflows.
Monitor and manage inventory of Environmental Services (EVS) supplies, notifying designated staff when restocking is needed.
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming supply deliveries, ensuring packing slips are reviewed and properly logged.
Organize and store supplies in designated stockroom locations in accordance with safety standards.
Transport and deliver supplies, equipment, and furniture to hospital units as needed.
Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain EVS equipment, including dispensers, vacuums, buffers, wet vacs, carpet extractors, and ride-on floor machines.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on EVS equipment to ensure proper function and reduce downtime.
Tag and coordinate vendor repair for equipment that cannot be repaired in-house.
Respond to work orders submitted through a computerized maintenance management system.
Communicate with custodial teams and hospital departments regarding supply needs, equipment use, and repair timelines.
