About The Position

The Utility Warehouse / Blending Specialist is a hybrid role that maintains job responsibilities in both warehouse and blending functions. The warehouse functions include receiving, picking, shipping, monitoring inventory, loading/unloading, maintaining and organizing the facility. The blending functions include blending petroleum/lubricant products in accordance with specific requirements for distribution.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse experience.
  • Knowledge of Inventory Management systems and proven math skills.
  • Ability to read and understand oil analysis.
  • Proficient computer and technical skills.
  • Knowledge of WMS system and ERP computer software.
  • Working knowledge of a WMS and handheld technology.
  • Previous experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), pallet jacks, cherry pickers, etc.
  • Knowledge of procedures to secure cargo in or on a commercial vehicle.
  • Ability to successfully complete the forklift certification test and train others.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of oil blends and viscosity preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Warehouse Manager/Supervisor to maintain inventory levels that will assure uninterruptible supply for our customer base and achieve optimum inventory investment.
  • Prepare base stock lubricants such as America’s Core 600, 100, 2500 and blend according to specified for each particular lubricant.
  • Perform visual inspections and pull samples to test for formula, viscosity, and quality.
  • Forward samples to laboratory for testing and analysis purposes.
  • Manage adjustments to products and blends as needed.
  • Operate boiler that adjusts heating requirements for various blends.
  • Transfer finished product to holding tank.
  • Pump out finished product from holding tank into tankers for delivery.
  • Maintain scheduling for routine service work or projects.
  • Monitor processing of incoming streams and recommend initiatives to improve product quality or increase equipment capacity.
  • Develop standards for sample frequency, testing, turnaround, and reliability.
  • Assist in monthly cycle counts and organize personnel for all physical inventories as required.
  • Maintain all aspects related to safety and quality control for our processing and blending.
  • Ensure that the formulas are followed for each blended product and that we have an oil analysis showing each batch meets the proper specification before moving into our finished goods inventory.
  • Develop and conduct training for blending procedures that will ensure product quality while maximizing our blend capacity.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities in the operations process.
  • Timely communications with Operations personnel, Logistics Managers, Fleet Maintenance Manager and assist them as required.
  • Assist in the application of JD Edwards with all warehouse personnel.
  • Assist in achieving all warehouse related KPI goals on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for the overall QA/QC for warehouse and blending processes.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe facility.
  • Responsible for the completion of special projects or the assignment of other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
