About The Position

The Utility Technician performs a number of kitchen activities including pot washing, dish washing, general cleaning duties, and storing food and non-food supplies. Requirements

  • Have at least a ninth grade education.
  • Have a minimum of three (3) months previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or club setting preferred; will train.
  • Restaurant / senior living or equivalent food service experience

Responsibilities

  • Sets up the dish and pot washing area
  • Prepares for dishwashing and washes pots, dishes and utensils
  • Distributes and stores clean pots, dishes and utensils
  • Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures
  • Empties trash containers as required
  • Completes all assigned cleaning tasks
  • Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
  • Performs under the direction of supervisory personnel, dish and pot washing, general cleaning duties and storing food and non-food supplies
  • Transports all clean and soiled linen to and from laundry
  • Food cart preparation (i.e. check food temps, document temps, reheat food, correct amount of food needed, etc.)
