About The Position
This role involves various janitorial and utility cleaning tasks across different campus locations. Responsibilities include operating a forklift or tugger, managing waste and recycling, cleaning specific areas like storm drains and machine surroundings, and performing general upkeep such as sweeping, mopping, and restroom cleaning. The position also includes event setup and breakdown, moving furniture, and pressure washing concrete areas. The specific duties may vary depending on the assigned location (Freightliner, Timken, Converse, Auriga).
Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively
- 1-3 years of experience
Responsibilities
- Operating a forklift and/or tugger to empty hoppers and maintain pallet yard
- Containing and cleaning up spills
- Monitoring recycle trailer drop-offs and pick-ups
- Cleaning area around waste pre-crusher and cardboard compactor
- Removing debris from storm drains, pallet yard, and fence lines
- Sweeping and scrubbing plant aisles
- Cleaning conveyor and trim pits
- General cleaning, sweeping and mopping floors around machines
- Removing metal chip
- Cleaning windows and bathrooms
- Emptying trash and removing cardboard
- Cleaning storage areas outside the plant
- Using a pressure washer to clean concrete areas outside
- Setting up and breaking down event set ups
- Moving student chairs/desks, file cabinets, rugs, and all other boxes in classrooms
- Sweeping and cleaning storm drains and ditches, stairwells, outside utility areas, and elevator floors
- Scrubbing floors
- Pulling trash
- Dusting
- Some vacuuming
- Restroom cleaning
