Utility Specialist/Mechanic Helper – Austin Industrial - (Channelview, TX)
About The Position
Austin Industrial provides premier self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft service to leading industrial companies across the U.S. An industry leader for more than 60 years, we offer single-source solutions to our customers in the oil, gas, chemical, food, agriculture, power, and manufacturing industries. This role requires the ability to diagnose mechanical failures and make needed repairs to industrial mechanical equipment. Duties include providing mechanical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting, and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment.
Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin Industries is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
- 1 year of experience.
- A TWIC and Valid Driver's License
Responsibilities
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Troubleshoots, repairs and installs industrial mechanical equipment.
- Tests, repairs or installs mechanical units, such as motors, water pumps, fuel pumps, governors, distributors, carburetors systems, brakes, clutches and other such devices.
- Replaces bearings, chains, sprockets and a variety of other machine parts.
- Rebuilds pumps, cylinders, and various mechanical equipment as necessary following standard operating procedures.
- Fabricates repair parts if necessary.
- Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
- Other duties as assigned.
