Responsibilities
Provides kitchen with adequate supply of clean pots, pans, and dishes by loading, operating, and unloading dishwasher, manually washing items as needed, drying clean dishes, and putting them away in the appropriate area for distribution to the restaurant.
Ensures kitchen safety by organizing soiled pots, pans, and dishes prior to loading them in to dishwasher, mopping and cleaning spills, and placing caution signs on wet floors and in hazardous areas according to established procedures.
Provides kitchen with food products by cutting, slicing, chopping and cleaning vegetables, preparing food product according to production sheets, and portioning desserts and condiments.
Maintains sanitary kitchen and orderly dumpster area by cleaning counters, floors, shelves, walls, ceilings and equipment, sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash cans, breaking down boxes, clearing alley and dumpster area, and disposing of trash according to established procedures.
Ensures a clean and orderly storage area by arranging and straightening food products and equipment, wiping shelves and counters, disposing of empty cartons, boxes and trash, and sweeping and mopping storage area floors.
Ensures chemicals, equipment, and supply costs are within established guidelines by regulating the amounts of chemicals and supplies used, minimizing waste of product, and notifying food service supervisor of needed repairs on defective or damaged machinery and/or equipment.
