About The Position

Under general supervision, performs semi-skilled and manual labor tasks associated with the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of the City's water and reclaimed water distribution systems, and wastewater collection systems; performs related duties as required. The schedule for this position will be either Monday - Thursday, 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or Tuesday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to six (6) months or up to one (1) year, depending on employment status. External candidates, probationary full-time, part-time, and temporary City of Henderson employees will start at the first step of the salary range, if selected.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or the equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience performing installation, maintenance or repair of utility infrastructure, typically greater than six (6) inches in size, directly related to waterworks distribution and/or wastewater collection system
• Employee must possess a Competent Person certificate or obtain such certificate within one (1) year of appointment
• Employee must possess a State of Nevada Water Distribution Operator Grade I certificate within eighteen (18) months of appointment
• Employee must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483, and maintain a satisfactory driving record
• All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by state and federal laws or as required herein, must be obtained (unless specifically stated otherwise) and maintained at employee's expense
• Employee may be expected to obtain training in proper use of full-face air-purifying respirator

Nice To Haves

• Possession of a State of Nevada Water Distribution Operator Grade II and Collection Grade II certificates
