About The Position

Sol Systems is seeking a Utility Scale Construction Manager who will oversee responsibility for utility scale solar project completion. This role will be based on-site with the Construction manager working out of the owner’s trailer, representing Sol Systems as the long-term owner. Requirements

  • Background in Utility Scale renewable energy construction or project engineering with at least 7 years’ experience
  • OSHA 10, preferably OSHA 30 Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Deep understanding of solar construction process, common bottlenecks, and how to manage through
  • Engineering or Construction Management degree a plus
  • NABCEP Certification also a plus

Responsibilities

  • Overall on-site responsibility for project
  • Ensure contractor is managing the construction schedule and progress.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with Sol
  • Evaluate and determine whether the EPC Contractor is complying with the technical specifications and material is being installed in a consistent and workmanship manner to secure the design performance and O&M expectations over the project design life, and direct rework as needed.
  • Manage the EPC contractor to ensure procurement activity is on schedule and they are adequately managing their subcontractors and the jobsite materials.
  • Support the delivery and offloading of Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE)
  • Evaluate and determine whether the EPC Contractor is complying with the Site Specific Safety Plan, and ensure all Contractor and Subcontractor activities are taking place per the plan and documented as such, and direct corrective action as needed.
  • Oversee the interconnection activity to ensure the Utility is performing their scope on schedule and that the contractor is on schedule for their interconnection activity and resolve any interconnection activity
  • Oversee the AHJ inspections and ensure all issues are addressed to maintain permit
  • Resolve RFI issues with the contractor and the Engineer of Record; navigate specification discrepancies and make judgment calls to maintain the schedule and ensure quality.
  • Ensure the EPC and their Subcontractors maintain sufficient qualified trade workers to complete the work on schedule.
  • Organize and facilitate on-site meetings with stakeholders
  • Provide the Sol PM with regular reports, inspections, and photographs detailing site progress and
