About The Position

The Utility Relief Operator is responsible for supplying day-to-day coverage for all operations in the Swiss Cheese Department. This role primarily covers the 12-hour night shift (6pm-6am) on a rotational schedule that includes every other weekend. Flexibility is required as the employee will cover various positions as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma.
• Five years of experience in production, sanitation, and packaging in a dairy environment.
• Must be able to read, interpret, and understand written and oral directions.
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Must demonstrate basic math skills to calculate production yields, and understand weights and measures.
• Must be able to verbally communicate, understand, and write in the English language.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Pasteurizer Certificate preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides vacation and daily coverage for all full-time employees as scheduled by the Production Supervisor.
• Monitors salt and pH concentration in the brine system.
• Assures pre-draw whey is properly heated and transferred to the whey plant.
• Follows company and regulatory standards for providing a quality and safe process.
• Documents all daily reports for work completed.
• Ensures sanitation, safety, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), and quality policies and procedures are followed.
• Assists in any other areas of the manufacturing plant when necessary.
