About The Position

This position supports the production portion of the pet food business. The Utility Production role is responsible for filling in for employees during breaks and absences while maintaining the quality of plant operations. The role involves operating necessary equipment, recording production data, ensuring cleanliness standards, and performing weekly sanitation. Teamwork and adherence to Simmons Operating Systems principles are crucial. This role may require obtaining and maintaining a company-issued forklift license and a background in manufacturing is preferred. The position requires strong communication skills, decision-making abilities, and the capacity to react calmly and focused to daily production priorities. The ability to speak, read, write, and understand English is essential.

Requirements

• Ability to walk up and down stairs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Fills in for employees during breaks and any type of absence while maintaining the continuing quality of the plant operation.
• Fully operates all necessary equipment in the assigned area.
• Record downtime, can loss, lot #’s, record temperature, and any other report documentation.
• Ensures all areas are cleaned to standard.
• Performs weekly sanitation.
• Participates as a member of the team, fostering strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues.
• Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems and this position’s role in support of these systems.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
