About The Position

This position is responsible for filling in for employees during breaks and absences to ensure the continuous quality of plant operations. The role involves operating necessary equipment, recording operational data, maintaining cleanliness standards, and participating actively as a team member. The individual will also be familiar with and support the company's operating systems and perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

Must be able to work in a busy, noisy, dusty environment with temperature extremes.
Must be able to work on feet for an entire shift.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Must have basic math skills.
Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

May be required to obtain and maintain company issued forklift license

Responsibilities

Fills in for employees during breaks and any type of absence while maintaining the continuing quality of the plant operations.
Fully operate all necessary equipment in assigned area.
Record downtime, can loss, lot numbers, record temperature, and any other report document.
Ensure all areas are cleaned to standard.
Perform weekly sanitation.
Participates as a member of the Team.
Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
Attends appropriate team meetings.
Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
