About The Position

The Utility Worker will work as part of a team to perform a variety of tasks required for safe and efficient operation of their assigned process area. This role involves performing clean-up and operational tasks, operating manual valves, inspecting processes, and performing housekeeping duties. The Utility Worker will also be an active participant in all safety efforts, working both independently and as part of a group to accomplish tasks. After qualification, there are opportunities for promotion to the next highest departmental position. The role also serves as a task runner for various responsibilities.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing with a stable work history.
• Ability to operate industrial machinery (such as fork trucks and control panels) and testing/measuring instruments.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule with overtime work when needed.
• Comfortable working in a Union environment.
• Must have functional knowledge of basic computer systems.
• Ability to perform work at various heights, temperatures and weather conditions.
• Must show proficiency in mathematics, locating information, observation, and reading for information.
• Must be able to lift reasonably heavyweights of paper, equipment, etc.
• Possesses the ability and confidence to perform tasks with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Degree in manufacturing technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and safely perform clean-up and operational tasks for the assigned production process.
