Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Packages finished product, distributes and loads products.
  • Read production schedule, shipping orders or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Convey material from receiving or production areas to storage or other areas.
  • Sort and place material in rows according to size, type, style, color or code.
  • Fill shipping schedule or requests for material or other stock items and distribute items to production station or loading dock.
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant.
  • Use computer to enter records.
  • Compile pick list from shipping schedule.
  • Drive vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to production station, or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Package finished product in paper, plastic, or super sacks per production schedule.
  • Fills bulk cars from production or warehouse inventory.
  • Form, staple, fill and glue shipping cartons.
  • Operate bag press, bulk car winch, and super sack packer.
  • Perform limited inspection of bulk car, box car and containers before loading.
