Utility Porter
About The Position
Boyd Gaming Corporation is seeking a Utility Porter to clean and maintain hotel public areas, including hallways, guest room carpet, elevators, stairwells, and back-of-house areas. This role involves collecting and removing trash and recyclables, replenishing supplies in housekeeping closets, and assisting housekeeping by delivering linen, amenities, or supplies to guest floors. The position requires operating floor care equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and carpet extractors. The Utility Porter will also report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to management and must follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures. Experience with carpet shampooing and floor care maintenance, including the operation of floor machines, is necessary, and candidates should be comfortable performing floor tech duties as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Experience with carpet shampooing and floor care maintenance, including the operation of floor machines and other related cleaning equipment.
- Comfortable performing floor tech duties as needed.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior custodial, janitorial, or hotel experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain hotel public areas, including hallways, guest room carpet, elevators, stairwells, and back-of-house areas.
- Collect and remove trash and recyclables from hotel hallways, guest rooms, and service closets.
- Replenish supplies in housekeeping closets
- Assist housekeeping by delivering linen, amenities, or supplies to guest floors.
- Operate floor care equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and carpet extractors.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the manager or supervisor.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the housekeeping leadership team.
- Perform carpet shampooing and floor care maintenance, including the operation of floor machines and other related cleaning equipment.
- Support the overall cleanliness and appearance of the property by performing floor tech duties.
