About The Position

Texas A&M University is seeking Utility Plant Operators at various levels of experience to join the Utilities & Energy Services department. This department is dedicated to being a world-class leader in the production, delivery, and management of utilities and energy services, while stewarding university resources and the environment. The position involves operating utility plant and satellite plant heating and cooling systems. Multiple openings are available. The recruitment process includes screening, interviews, and reference checks to determine the best fit for the positions. This role operates on a 12-hour schedule with a 7-day rotating shift cycle, including seven consecutive days off between rotations. The position is located in College Station, TX, and remote work is not available.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Senior Utility Plant Operator: 5 years of utility plant operation or equivalent process control experience.
  • Utility Plant Operator: 3 years of utility plant operation or equivalent process control experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operating the utility plant and satellite plant heating and cooling systems.
  • Operating the utility plant and satellite plant heating and cooling systems on an advanced level (for Senior Utility Plant Operator).
  • May drive a University vehicle.
