Requirements

One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
One year of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment
An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment
Possess an active Class C motor vehicle license
Meet the PA residency requirement
Be able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

Lead plant operations during assigned shifts and make decisions that support safe and efficient performance
Observe boilers, pumps, compressors, and related systems to confirm proper temperatures, levels, and function
Take and test water samples and adjust chemical applications to maintain required standards
Perform repairs, cleaning, painting, and preventive maintenance to keep equipment and facilities in good working order
Document water readings, chemical readings, repairs, and shift activities clearly and accurately
Follow all emergency procedures and plant safety rules to maintain safe and continuous steam generation
