About The Position

The Utility Person assists in the repair and fabrication of components for electro-mechanical equipment using manual lathes, shapers, drill presses, grinders, and electroplating. This role requires applying knowledge of machining procedures, mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, and layout to support maintenance and manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of machining procedures, mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, and layout.
  • Ability to use manual lathes, shapers, drill presses, grinders, and electroplating equipment.
  • Proficiency with measuring devices such as rulers, micrometers, and vernier calipers.
  • Creativity and latitude in completing assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work under general supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the repair of mechanical and electrical components and assemblies using hand tools.
  • Utilize measuring devices such as rulers, micrometers, and vernier calipers to ensure precision.
  • Perform a variety of tasks related to machining and component fabrication.
  • Exhibit a certain degree of creativity and latitude in completing assigned tasks.
  • Work under general supervision to complete required repairs and fabrications.
