About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. Heidelberg Materials is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Utility Person to support daily quarry operations. This role is responsible for assisting with maintenance, housekeeping, production support, and general site activities that contribute to a safe and efficient operation.

Requirements

• Strong commitment to safety and the ability to follow established work procedures.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, and working outdoors.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn maintenance and quarry operations tasks.
• Dependable team player with strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
• Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform site housekeeping and cleanup to maintain a safe and organized quarry environment.
• Operate a haul truck to move materials from the pit to the plant in a safe and efficient manner to support production.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections to support operational reliability.
• Support production activities by moving materials, tools, and supplies as needed.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and operating procedures while contributing to team goals.
