About The Position
Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This role operates and supports production equipment to ensure efficient quarry operations and material flow. It involves performing routine inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of mobile and plant equipment, as well as assisting with loading, hauling, and stockpiling aggregates safely and efficiently. The position also requires monitoring plant processes to identify opportunities for improving safety, quality, and productivity, and adhering to all safety procedures while actively participating in safety initiatives and training.
Requirements
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate heavy equipment such as loaders, haul trucks, or similar machinery
- Demonstrated commitment to working safely and following established procedures
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Reliability, accountability, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and conditions
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
- Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing
Responsibilities
- Operate and support production equipment to ensure efficient quarry operations and material flow
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of mobile and plant equipment
- Assist with loading, hauling, and stockpiling aggregates in a safe and efficient manner
- Monitor plant processes and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity
- Follow all safety procedures and actively participate in safety initiatives and training
