About The Position

The Utility Operator position involves making general repairs to equipment, performing routine maintenance, and fabricating parts through welding as needed. This role also requires completing documentation of service work, filling in for other operators when necessary, and ensuring all work activities are conducted safely and in accordance with company policies. The position may also involve other assigned duties.

Requirements

Understand what it takes for a customer-oriented business to be successful and what it takes to provide the products/services necessary to meet the customers’ needs on a timely basis
Ability to effectively communicate, in English, both verbally and in writing at all levels of the organization
Ability to read and understand basic reports, and complete routine mathematics
Knowledge of various types of welding processes (sheet metal, ironwork etc.)
Ability to lift fifty (50) lbs. pounds with regularity and up to seventy-five (75) pounds in some cases
Complete understanding of the workings of equipment used by the company

Knowledge and understanding of aggregate recycling operations, preferred

Responsibilities

Makes general repairs to equipment
Performs routine maintenance on equipment
Welds and fabricates parts as needed to facilitate repairs
Completes all required documentation of service work performed
Fills in for the Plant Operator or Loader Operator when regular staff are out
Follows all company policies and procedures in accordance with guidelines established by Arcosa management
Ensure that all work activities are conducted in a safe manner
Other duties/responsibilities may be assigned
