About The Position
The Entry Utility Operator role is responsible for independently running basic setup for Spot Welding, Stud Welding and Clinch Studding machines and fabricating parts to standard. This role requires understanding and utilizing various manufacturing processes and documentation, troubleshooting machine issues, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment while ensuring high quality and timely completion of tasks. The position also involves modeling expected team behaviors and company core values.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 1-3 years of experience in spot and stud welding and clinch studding.
- Ability to frequently lift or move objects up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours or more a day.
- Ability to maneuver and hold large parts.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
- Knowledge of basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
- Ability to understand manufacturing processes such as Kanban, JDE, BOM viewer, method sheets, etc.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, background check screen, and motor vehicle screen (if applicable).
Responsibilities
- Independently run basic setup for Spot Welding, Stud Welding and Clinch Studding machines.
- Fabricate parts to standard.
- Understand how to correctly use JDE programing functions (i.e. sending Kanban cards, tracking Kanban card status and history).
- Utilize and maintain Drawings, Non-Cad Process Sheets, Fab to Order and Operating Instructions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of all fixtures in the assigned department.
- Repair most defects independently.
- Troubleshoot machine misalignments.
- Identify material types and practice proper disposal of scrap.
- Demonstrate consistency in practicing all safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Complete all required work within expected time requirements with excellent quality.
