About The Position

The Utility Operator RE04 is responsible for operating computers that manage facility operations. This role involves monitoring product throughout the processing phase and maintaining communication with various departments to coordinate equipment adjustments. The operator will monitor controls, temperatures, gate positions, and speeds, operate computers, centrifuge/analysis machines, and basic hand tools. They will also report safety concerns to the supervisor, reset controls in the motor control center, adhere to plant safety rules, perform assigned QA/HACCP duties, and communicate via two-way radio. Additionally, the role may require operating a frontend loader or forklift, necessitating certification. The successful candidate must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of continuous work history within the past 2 years.
  • Minimum of 3 months of experience operating machinery in a processing/factory environment.
  • Ability to communicate and get along with others.
  • Ability to tolerate climate changes from very cold to very hot.
  • Must be willing and able to fulfill the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must complete the final task separate from the application.

Nice To Haves

  • Obtain certification to operate frontend loader or forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Operation of computers that operate the facility.
  • Resetting breakers, starters, and variable frequency drives.
  • Identifying all motor controls or equipment and relaying information for correct lockout.
  • Monitoring product throughout the processing phase.
  • Maintaining communication with receiving/preparation, floor operators, grinding room, and loadout to coordinate equipment adjustments.
  • Monitoring controls, relaying temperatures, gate positions, and speeds to team members.
  • Operating computers, centrifuge/analysis machines, and basic hand tools.
  • Reporting any unsafe items to the supervisor.
  • Resetting controls in the motor control center.
  • Following plant safety rules.
  • Performing QA/HACCP duties as assigned.
  • Communicating via two-way radio.
  • Operating frontend loader or forklift (requires certification).
  • Climbing silos and oil tanks for inventory duties.
  • Reaching, lifting, and working overhead.
