About The Position

The Utility Operator is responsible for ensuring the correct number of cartons are placed on a skid in the correct configuration, and for providing the packaging line with needed quantities of secondary packaging material to sustain continual operations. This role also involves completing assigned documentation accurately and in a timely manner, verifying and validating the accuracy and legibility of all case code dates throughout the assigned shift, and following HACCP and Food Safety principles. The operator must verify compliance to all Critical Control points and Preventative Quality Checkpoints to ensure a safe quality product is produced consistently. They are responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiating action as necessary, while adhering to all Food Safety guidelines including GMP’s, Allergen Program, Quality, HACCP, Sanitation, and Safety.

Requirements

  • Minimum six months experience in a Production capacity or related role in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to make simple math calculations and measurements.
  • Ability to read and speak basic English.
  • Possess manual dexterity to manipulate hand jack and strength to pull +30lbs.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height on an intermittent basis.
  • Understanding of basic principles of the SQF program and other food safety policies/procedures.
  • Ability to use basic tools and make simple mechanical adjustments.
  • Willingness to work in hot, humid, and noisy environment.
  • Willingness to work independently with minimum instructions.
  • Adhere to all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Procedures.
  • Maintain records, communicate, and correct out of control conditions.
  • Read and understand basic flow charts.
  • Wear all required protective equipment.
  • Obey all food and human safety rules and regulations.
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations.

  • Manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness to work some weekends and overtime as needed.
